Why do cleaners charge different prices for men's and women's shirts?
Although many cleaners charge more for women's garments, at Total Cleaners WE DO NOT. We find this practice discriminatory and unethical. The cost will be always the same for a men's dry cleaned shirt and a women's dry cleaned blouse.

According to manufacturer's label, garments can be either drycleaned or laundered. Drycleaning and laundry are two separate processes that utilize different machines, materials and incur different costs. In the laundering process, there are two types of finishing (pressing) procedures: one utilizes automated pressing equipment and the other requires hand finishing.

Laundered shirts are inspected to determine what type of finishing the shirt requires. Shirts that fit size and fabric criteria (such as high temperature) can be finished utilizing automated pressing equipment designed to finish shirts quicker and more efficiently than hand pressing.

For those shirts that do not fall within the criteria of utilizing the automated pressing equipment will require hand finishing, a much more labor intensive and time consuming process. As in any service business, the time it takes to complete a project generally dictates the price. Therefore, because hand-finished shirts require more time to complete than those finished on machines, the cost is higher.

The professionals at Total Cleaners will determine based on what will best clean garments in the safest manner with the least risk of damage.

Do you operate your own cleaning and processing facility?
Yes, we are a family owned and operated business. We have all the equipments and expertise to have direct control of all the garments we process. You can be rest assured that your garments are processed with highest level of care and quality.

Are there any added fees or costs in addition to the printed price?
There are no added costs or hidden fees added to your price for standard service items. Custom items and requests may require an additional charge but you will always be informed prior to processing.

How do you resolve problems such as losing a garment or damaging my dry cleaning items? In other words, what recourse is available to me in the event of a problem?
This is often one of the main reasons a customer leaves their existing cleaners. At Total Cleaners, our Triple Checking Tracking® system greatly reduces the chances of losing an item, in fact our accuracy rate is 99.99%, and our dry cleaning processes minimize damages. However, when an occasional item is lost or damaged, please notify us within 10 days of your delivery. Then, our experienced customer service manager will work with you to reach a mutually agreeable arrangement based on the cost and age of the garment using American National Standards Institute National Fair Claims Guide for Consumer Textile Products.

Is there a full time customer service manager that has dry cleaning experience and is customer friendly?
Our customer service manager Wayne Poling has 30 years of experience as a former owner. He is sensitive to your concerns and will assist you courteously and professionally.

How do I register?

What are my payment options?
We offer two payment options. We can automatically charge your credit card(American Express, Diners, Discover, Mastercard, and Visa) or you can send us a check. With either option we will send you an itemized invoice.

How do I know that my personal information is secure?
To protect your information, we use Verisign encryption technology to secure all online order information. In addition, any collected information is used solely by us to serve you better. We do not share or sell your information to third parties.

How does Total Cleaners price compare with traditional drycleaners?
Total Cleaners offers rates competitive with local drycleaners. Plus you can save even more with online promotional coupons.

How do I change my preferences or my information?

Questions Regarding Pickup and Delivery

Is there a monthly minimum to maintain service?
Absolutely not, you are only billed for garments you send us for cleaning.

Do you charge for pickup and delivery service?
When we say FREE, we really mean FREE. Our rates are the same whether you come to our dropoff facility or we come to your home or office

Do you offer "emergency service" or next day service and if so, is there an additional fee?
There is no added cost for next day service, however, we require that you notify us a day in advance.

Where do I put my laundry bag and how are my items returned?
During your registration process, designate a pick up and drop off site at your home that is preferably protected from bad weather. Upon your first pickup, we will provide you with a door hook that fits on your door and upon delivery your items will be placed on the hook.

How does Total Cleaners pickup and delivery work?
After registration, on your initial start date, place your garments in any bag and leave in your designated location by 8AM. After the first pickup, we will provide you a bag.

Where is the pickup and delivery site?
During your registration process, designate a pickup and a drop-off site that is preferably safe from the weather..

Does the driver accept gratuities for the delivery?
Our drivers are instructed not to accept tips or gratuities for the delivery.

How do I change, hold, or cancel the service?

How do I know if a garment should be drycleaned or laundered?
Federal laws require that all clothing manufacturers determine and provide cleaning instructions. Generally manufacturers provide information about the fabric from which the garment is made and special care instructions on how to clean it on the tag. In addition to "Dryclean Only" or "Launder" garments may list additional symbols that instruct the cleaner on special instructions such as type and temperature of solvent, cleaning times, drying and pressing instructions, etc. All garments at Total Cleaners are cleaned according to the manufacturer's specifications.

What causes some white fabrics to yellow?
Almost all white fabrics are treated by manufacturers with an optical brightener to intensify the white appearance. Some of these brighteners will yellow from age, heat and light (both natural and artificial). To minimize the potential for yellowing, never place white garments in direct sunlight or artificial light while being stored.

Are there such things as 'invisible' stains?
Yes. Age, exposure and the heat of drying after laundering, drycleaning or finishing can cause these stains to oxidize and become visible.

Why has the color in my suit jacket faded and the pants have not? I had them cleaned at the same time.
Despite the fact that the suit is made from the exact same material, sometimes during manufacturing, one component may be cut from one bolt of material, and the other component's fabric cut from another.
